This dress is one of my favorite DIY projects I’ve ever attempted. I found the dress in a bargain bin at one of my favorite thrift stores, paid $2 for it (no joke. I could have paid in quarters) and fixed it up. It had a very tiny hole in the back and therefore was condemned to the “almost throw away” section of the store. At the time I had an obsession with backless dresses–OK who am I kidding, I’m still obsessed with anything and everything backless–and I used my sewing skills to salvage this JCrew shirtdress. I love it, and it’s a totally one-of-a-kind piece.
